In Two Minds: A Lifelong Tale of Disputed Memories

In Two Minds: A Lifelong Tale of Disputed Memories explores a false memory phenomenon, known as Disputed Memories, in which two individuals can vividly recall an experience that was only lived by one. Blurring the lines between fact and fiction, this project combines archival footage and staged imagery to narrate six personal stories of Disputed Memories between identical twin sisters, Jess and Georgia. Through visuals that traverse decades – from the 1990s to the 2020s – this photographic work unveils the intricate dynamics between their conflicting realities and seeks to interrogate the complex interplay between authorship and memory.
